Celebrating over 48 years in operation Historic Albany Foundation is a private, not-for-profit. The goal of HAF? To preserve and protect buildings that have architectural, historic, or civic value. We fulfill our mandate through educational programming, tours, technical assistance, community projects, advocacy for endangered buildings, and the operation of our Architectural Parts Warehouse.
We see buildings as more than bricks and mortar - they are communities, memories, and a shared history as well as architecture. Buildings and neighborhoods hold within them the stories of the people and the history that came before, and we want to keep saving those buildings and stories for years to come.
Our Architectural Parts Warehouse serves as a repository for historic house parts that could not be saved, preventing them from ending up in the trash. It is an invaluable resource for historic property owners & green-minded individuals to source rare, period-appropriate parts, & items to reuse, recycle, and repurpose. We stock windows, doors, toilets, tubs, and much more. All Warehouse items are salvaged/donated.
