Let's begin with our conclusion: Empathy is radically infectious.
Welcome to The Empathy Effect, a national nonprofit organization; active in nearly 100 countries through the power of social media.
What started as a humble social experiment snowballed into a social movement. In June 2015, over the course of 365 days, Kim Smiley harnessed Facebook to post a true story and black and white photograph everyday (save Saturday) about someone transforming the world through stepping into another person's shoes. The reaction was electric.
Established as a nonprofit in 2017, the goal of The Empathy Effect is to educate people of all ages about the power of empathy in pubic and private life, not just philosophically but practically.
In 2020, the Empathy Empire Charitable Foundation was formed. The goal was to realize an audacious goal: teaching the radical power of empathy to over 1 million people in 1 year, setting the stage for a Global Compassion Revolution.
