The Jackson School of the Arts provides quality accessible arts education programs for Jackson County youth regardless of their financial means.
For nearly two decades, the Jackson School of the Arts has been a leading provider in art, dance, and theater education. Thanks to community support and a sliding fee scale to give opportunities to disadvantaged children, 79% of the families served were benefited by financial assistance and were able to add creative education and a fresh extracurricular outlet to their routine.
This robust organization has grown substantially over the last 12 years to include 27 instructors and diversity of courses. However, this growth and ambition has quickly reached the physical limits of their current location in the Art 634 Building. To make their vision for artistic outreach and a revitalized Downtown Jackson a reality, the Jackson School of the Arts plans to relocate to the iconic Masonic Temple by 2019 — transforming this historic building into a destination for the future of Downtown Jackson and a beacon of creativity.
