CARE International is one of the world's largest private international humanitarian organizations, working in almost 70 countries around the world, committed to helping families (over 45 million a year) in poor communities to bring about lasting changes in their everyday lives. CARE officially became CARE International in 1982. CARE International is a confederation of agencies in 13 nations – Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Deutschland, France, Japan, Nederland, Norway, Thailand (the Raks Thai Foundation), the United Kingdom and the USA. These members primarily raise funds for CARE’s operations around the world. The Secretariat or Head Office of CARE International is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
