MHAGC is an independent, not-for-profit association founded in 1957 and is dedicated to helping people live mentally healthier lives.
MHAGC Mission:
To maximize the mental and emotional wellness of the youth, adults and families of our communities by promoting prevention and increasing empowerment through our education, collaboration and support programs.
We provide individuals in schools, businesses, healthcare systems & communities the knowledge and referral to resources they need to respond to the mental health concerns of their constituencies. We provide avenues for people with disabling mental illnesses to receive the support, treatment & services that they need to recover and live full lives in their communities. We are advocates for more research and services focused on prevention, recovery, and cures.
What We Do
- We work to eliminate the unnecessary loss of life due to suicide.
- We focus on mental health for children, adolescents, emerging adults, families and veterans.
- Our programs uniquely cover identification, prevention and support.
- We provide both a prevention plan (nutrition, environment, avoidance of food additives and other causes of mental health symptoms and illnesses) and education about brain health.
- We do not log or keep track of individual’s names. We have no affiliation with any conflict of interest organizations and we are independent focusing on our constituents.
