Craig Lawrence graduated from Central St Martins in 2009 after working with Gareth Pugh for six seasons, producing knitwear for his collections. Since graduation, he has received the support of the British Fashion Council’s prestigious NewGen programme for an unprecedented 6 seasons before moving on from the programme in 2012. The same year, Craig Lawrence was given a place on the Centre for Fashion Enterprise’s Venture Programme, beginning in the spring of 2012.
Craig Lawrence is known for his innovative work in the field of knitwear – producing sophisticated, playful and elegant collections with a focus on craftsmanship and individuality. Past seasons have seen the designer work with materials as varied as Scooby wrappers, gold foil and bin bags. His signature yarn which can be seen in each collection is Kyototex,- a Japanese metallic covered yarn.
Craig Lawrence has spearheaded the campaign for digital fashion, producing stunning fashion films for the past six seasons. His collections have been worn by celebrities including Lady Gaga, Tilda Swinton, Bjork and Florence Welch. The brand has seen interest from buyers increasing rapidly each season, with stockists include Dover Street Market in London, 10 Corso Como in Milan and RA in Paris and Antwerp.
