The UC Davis Agricultural Sustainability Institute strives to ensure access to healthy food and to promote the vitality of agriculture today and for future generations. We do this through integrative research, education, communication and early action on big, emerging issues. We partner with farmers, ranchers, agribusiness, non-profits, policy makers, and local communities to ensure that our research and teaching respond to the needs of the people of California and the world.
We seek to build a community of researchers, agricultural practitioners, students, non-profit professionals, and policy makers in three areas: food and society, agriculture, resources, and the environment, and education and leadership.
We operate five programs that span across our vision and thematic areas:
UC Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SAREP)
Russell Ranch Sustainable Agriculture Facility at UC Davis
Student Farm at UC Davis
Inter-Institutional Network for Food, Agriculture, and Sustainability (INFAS)
Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Undergraduate Major (SA&FS).
