The Lewis Latimer House Museum, operated by the Lewis H. Latimer Fund, Inc., was established to preserve and promote the legacy of Lewis Howard Latimer, and other innovators of color who made extraordinary contributions to technology and American life. The Museum offers STEAM educational programs, exhibitions and public programs in poetry, arts, technology, and social justice. Latimer's life story is used as a point of departure from which to examine issues of race, class, immigration and contemporary events.
