Restored and managed by Plumpton College, One Garden Brighton is a secret revealed. A walled garden, rediscovered, reinvented, and opened to the public for the first time. Rooted in the past, it focuses on inspiration for the future. Whether for eating, meeting, pleasure, or plants, One Garden Brighton is a place for everyone, with things to discover every day.
Explore the garden
The garden combines both heritage and innovation. Complementing our restored traditional kitchen garden, the main attraction are the set of contemporary show gardens exploring themes such as climate change, wellbeing and biodiversity. These have been designed by modern-day landscape architect Dominic Cole who worked on the Eden Project. His thought-provoking creations will surprise and delight visitors, and inspire your own gardening ideas.
Taste the garden
At the heart of the garden, One Kitchen is a restaurant and meeting place, serving high quality, seasonal dishes inspired by the garden. It is a family-friendly space with indoor and outdoor seating, and a flexible menu for every appetite.
Shop the garden
Our large One Market champions local producers. It stocks a range of baked goods, deli items and gifts as well as Plumpton Estate wine and cheese and ingredients tasted in One Kitchen. Our aim is to provide all the ingredients needed for a meal inspired by your visit. Plus you can find a selection of plants, as seen in the garden, including some unusual specimens.
Take part in exciting events
One Garden Brighton is one venue, but different every day. It is a unique indoor-outdoor place with a constant festival of events, exhibitions and activities. Visitors can expect pop-up shops, food and craft fairs, farmers markets, masterclasses and concerts.
Be part of our community
In addition to educational visits and trips for schools, there are indoor and outdoor spaces for community activities, and opportunities for volunteering and work experience.
