Encompassing more than 600 acres, the Genesee Country Village & Museum is one of the largest living history museums in the country. Located in the small hamlet of Mumford, New York, about 20 miles from Rochester, New York. First opened to the public in 1976, the authentic 19th-century Historic Village features costumed historians breathing life into relocated and restored historic homes, farms, shops, and other public buildings. GCV&M is also home to the John L. Wehle Art Gallery, the Genesee Country Nature Center, Silver Baseball Park, and several Heirloom Gardens. Numerous special events and classes are offered throughout the year.
