A state-subsidised international school, UWC Maastricht offers an English-medium education to over 900 pupils from 100 different nationalities. Our school is unique within UWC as the only kindergarten through secondary institution.
In 2010, UWC Maastricht welcomed its first group of UWC National Committee nominated residential students. The residential students join a dynamic community of international day students drawn from the Euregion Benelux.
The school moved in October 2012 to a new custom built campus which brings together our academic and residential facilities.
All students are expected to participate fully in College life and uphold the UWC values of:
• International and intercultural understanding
• Celebration of difference
• Personal responsibility and integrity
• Mutual responsibility and respect
• Compassion and service
• Respect for the environment
• A sense of idealism
• Personal challenge
• Action and personal example
UWC Maastricht Primary students follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Secondary students the IB Middle Years Programme. All secondary students follow the rigorous two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) as their terminal degree.
All our students are intensely involved in the understanding and celebration of cultural differences, the resolution of conflicts, the promotion of peace and sustainability, the exercise of empathy, teamwork and leadership development, maintaining a healthy lifestyle by practicing a sport, engagement in the local community by providing service to others and the design of solutions through social entrepreneurship projects to apply all the above.
