Perthyn is the Welsh word for “belonging”.
Perthyn’s primary purpose is to provide support to people with learning difficulties in order that they can lead dignified and fulfilling lives within the community.
We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which is essentially funded by the Local Authorities of the areas within which we operate.
Perthyn was formed in 2002 and is a ‘not for profit’ charity based upon principles of delivering high quality person-centred care and support, and has consistently grown to become one of the largest and most highly-regarded charities in Wales.
As at 2019 Perthyn has an annual turnover in excess of £20 million, employs over 850 staff, and provides support to more than 250 people across Wales and the East Midlands. this considered and controlled growth is anticipated to continue.

Cardiff, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Powys, Swansea, Shropshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
