Akastor is an oil-services investment company with a portfolio of industrial holdings and other investments. The company has a flexible mandate for active ownership and long-term value creation.
Akastor was established as an investment company in 2014 following a demerger of Aker Solutions with a portfolio of companies. Akastor traces its origin back to a small mechanical workshop, named Akers Mekaniske Verksted, founded on the Aker River in Oslo, Norway, in 1841.
The portfolio comprises companies in the oilfield services sector in addition to other smaller-sized holdings. Akastor’s portfolio companies generated 2017 revenues of NOK 4.3 billion, EBITDA of NOK 293 million and employ c. 2,000 people worldwide.
Akastor is listed on Oslo Stock Exchange (Ticker: AKA). Aker Kværner Holding AS, which is owned by Aker ASA and the Norwegian Government, is the largest shareholder of Akastor with a shareholding of 40.27 percent.
Akastor operates a lean corporate center with 18 employees situated at Lysaker (Fornebu), Norway. Akastor’s aim is to develop and refine our portfolio companies as stand-alone enterprises, with the goal of maximizing the value potential of each entity.
