Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County works to eliminate substandard housing and break the cycle of poverty by partnering with low-income families in the community. Through mentorship, training and volunteer 'sweat equity', our partner families are empowered to purchase these homes through the provision of low-interest mortgages.
Habitat Snohomish employs a small staff and is operated almost entirely by volunteer labor in three main areas: construction, Stores and administrative work. Volunteers work with us for a variety of reasons; examples include people looking for work experience and unemployed folks, retirees looking to give back, corporate groups volunteering to enhance morale, students building resumes and families spending time together.
