LIGHT FOR THE WORLD Austria (LICHT FÜR DIE WELT) is an Austrian development NGO and part of a European confederation aiming at an inclusive society. We are committed to saving eyesight, improving the quality of life and advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities in the underprivileged regions of our world. LIGHT FOR THE WORLD provides access to treatment and rehabilitation for persons with disabilities by supporting local partner organizations. We also commit ourselves to the task of creating new opportunities for persons with disabilities, to increase mobility with the help of devices, to start initiatives that will provide education and income, and to support people with disabilities to exercise their rights. Since our foundation in 1988 we enabled more than half a million cataract surgeries and provided rehabilitative care to 247.430 children with disabilities.
