In 2009, the Faculty of Economics and Business celebrates its 50th anniversary. The FEB is proud of this fifty-year existence, which presents the tradition in the Slovenian academic area and a high degree of maturity in the international one. During these fifty years, more than 26,000 students graduated from our Faculty, hence acquiring different professional and scientific titles. All this places us among old and large Faculties in Slovenia. Although we may be content with the path of our development and be proud of how far we have come, we are well aware that there are still many challenges in the European higher education area lying ahead.
Regardless of its tradition, the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Maribor has been continuously developing and is today a modern Faculty which has successfully transformed its programmes by adapting them to the requirements of the Bologna Declaration according to the 3+2+3 model. Since 2006, the first- cycle university education programme and the professional higher education programme have been implemented together with the second-cycle master’s programme while the third-cycle doctoral programme has been running since 2008. All programmes are modern and internationally comparable. In addition, the firstand second-cycle programmes received ECBE accreditation in 2008.
