A wise man once said that we are human beings and not human doings.
But let's face it. We are brought up to value ourselves mostly for what we do.
Still, there is this primal thirst for peace and happiness, seemingly insatiable through doing, as once you’re done, the achieved is already fleeting.
The Sufis say true happiness requires nothing, but the courage to face it.
"It" being the simple recognition that "I am". Right here, right now. Nothing complex.
Isn't this most basic experience - I am - the same for all eight billion of us? That’s quite some common ground, if you ask me.
Let’s be less caught up in our heads. Let’s stop arguing and mistaking our opinions for ourselves.
Can we just dare to gift ourselves some time to being here on purpose?
At the crossroads of modern science and ancient contemplative traditions, mindfulness is an invitation to familiarize ourselves with the functioning of mind.
Mindfulness practice can reduce stress, improve well-being and strengthen dear relationships. Ultimately, being at the service of self-understanding and wisdom.
Feel free to join in.
