About the Foundation: Art In Tanzania is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ethiopia and Finland. Established in Dar es Salaam in 2001. Over the course of a year, AIT receives over 1,000 volunteers and interns, with approximately 100 volunteers/interns in country at one time. Volunteer/Intern projects in Moshi, Karatu, Masai Land, Dar es Salaam, Stone Town and Makanduchi (Zanzibar) Mission: Advancement of community development through volunteer and intern projects in the fields of education, HIV/AIDS awareness, construction, sports programs and orphan care and the development of media (Mzuka Records and Fiesta Magazine) to promote social awareness.
