Purdue ECE has over $54 million in externally raised research funding. Faculty collaborate closely with industry, and the talent in Purdue ECE has been a major factor in attracting industry to the local area, including many tech-focused companies and companies such as Saab Global Defense and Security Company, Rolls-Royce, and GE Aviation. SkyWater Technology recently announced plans to build a $1.8 billion semiconductor R&D and production facility in West Lafayette.
