Coram Family and Childcare is a leading family charity. We aim to make the UK a better place for families.
Our philosophy is based on championing parent-led solutions. We believe that working with parents to support them to make their communities a better place to live a fulfilling family life is the best way of creating positive, sustainable and lasting change for families.
Our research and advocacy focuses on making Britain as supportive of fulfilling family lives as possible, and on holding central and local government to account for doing all it can to remove barriers for families.
We run a range of parent-led programmes aimed at providing support for parents in the everyday but not-always-easy job of being a parent. Many of these focus on supporting parents to build the extended support networks that other parents can take for granted.
Our network of expert consultants work with local authorities, providers of family services such as childcare providers, and businesses to support them to deliver government initiatives and improve their quality of provision.
Coram Family and Childcare coordinates the the National Association Family Information Services (NAFIS), the Parent Champions programme and the Young Dads Collective.
We became known as Coram Family and Childcare when the Family and Childcare Trust joined the Coram group of charities in 2018. The Family and Childcare Trust was created from a merger of the Family and Parenting Institute and the Daycare Trust in 2013. We bring over 40 years of experience in campaigning and research into family life and childcare.
