For those who silently suffer with emotional, relational, or spiritual pain, we offer compassionate care that helps them heal, gives them hope, and allows them to change.
A nonprofit, faith-based organization, Samaritan Counseling, Guidance, Consulting provides psychological counseling for all people seeking help, regardless of age, gender, religion, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, disability or inability to pay. We empower people who are hurting to gain hope, healing and the skills to overcome crises in their lives. We help them to achieve health, well-being and balance--mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Serving over ~2,000 people annually, Samaritan operates multiple offices located throughout Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Jefferson counties. Our therapists are licensed providers specializing in many areas and treatment methods. They are client-focused in regard to the integration of faith beliefs into counseling, without attempting to impose any particular denominational doctrine, but basing the faith aspect of treatment on clients' own beliefs.
Samaritan's counseling services address a wide range of issues, including:
- Depression, anxiety, and numerous other mental health disorders
- Couples and families in crisis
- Stress management
- Effects of abuse and trauma
- Parenting
- Anger management
- Children and adolescents in crisis
- Young Adult issues
and much more...
Another key focus area is Clergy and Congregational Care. Samaritan provides ongoing workshops which train pastors and/or congregations in vital areas of need, such as leadership development and church transformation.
Additional services include support groups, workshops on parenting, prevention of suicide and sexual abuse, and many other educational programs.
