IEEE, pronounced "Eye-triple-E," stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
IEEE Cairo University Student Branch (CUSB) is a member in the IEEE Egypt Section , in the IEEE Region 8 which includes student branches from Europe, Middle-East and Africa and it was the first IEEE student branch to be established in Egypt. It is located at the Faculty of Engineering and serves four departments within the faculty, Electronics and Communications, Electric Power, Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.
The main goal of the student branch is to enhance and foster the engineering sense and capabilities of the faculty students through different activities. Activities include, but not limited to, workshops, competitions, conferences and fairs.
Most of the work is done by student members and volunteers. Volunteers come from the four departments listed above as well as from other departments in the faculty like Civil, Mechanical, Architecture, Mining , Aerospace Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
