Founded by Kanya King CBE, the MOBO Organisation (MOBO) is a leading entertainment and culture company, driven by cause, culture, creativity, and community. Celebrating excellence in music and Black culture for more than 20 years, it is a pioneer in producing diverse storytelling and delivers new perspectives to its audiences across the global media space.
MOBO has become best known for the MOBO Awards - an annual celebration that recognises and honours the artistic and technical achievements of exceptional British and international talent in the musical fields of Hip Hop, Grime, R&B/Soul, Reggae, Jazz, Gospel, African music, and more. The many millions who love Black culture, look to the MOBO Awards for signature moments of enrichment, entertainment, and empowerment.
Beyond the MOBO Awards, the work that MOBO does behind the scenes and across the year is focused primarily on supporting the next generation of diverse and creative talent both in music and beyond.
MOBO supports undiscovered talent in music via its artist development program, MOBO UnSung. The MOBO Help Musicians Fund provides financial and well-being support to emerging talent. MOBO Trust is the organisations charitable arm and supports talent within the wider creative industries, and MOBO is excited to be venturing into the tech world with the soon to be launched digital platform, MOBOLISE, which aims to connect Black and diverse talent, with the best career opportunities, within the most forward-thinking organisations.
MOBO has become much more than just an awards ceremony - it’s now an iconic, year-round, agenda-setting brand.
