Welcome to the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate (ANZUP) Cancer Trials Group. Our mission is to conduct clinical trial research to improve treatment of bladder, kidney, testicular, penile and prostate cancers.
Funded by Cancer Australia ANZUP is a cancer cooperative clinical trials group, established to bring together all the professional disciplines and groups involved in researching and treating urogenital cancers. We saw a gap and a need for an organisation able to perform clinical trials based on the best science and with clear input from Australian and New Zealand researchers and the general community. ANZUP was established in 2008 and has clearly demonstrated its value and promise by performing investigator-initiated clinical trials, developed by our members, both nationally and internationally across the range of genitourinary cancers. We continue to build on our impressive multidisciplinary membership while developing very strong relationships with other NGO’s such as Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, CanSpeak, Cancer Councils, the national cancer cooperative trials groups, COSA, Kidney Health Australia as well as Government and Industry.
We collaborate with the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre at the University of Sydney on a number of ANZUP studies. Through ANZUP and our research collaborations we are able to encourage participation of clinicians and researchers in the development, conduct, evaluation, and promotion of clinical trials and translate research outcomes into future clinical practice to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for our patients.
Membership of ANZUP is open to anyone holding the ideals of ANZUP and working in the field of cancer care or cancer research in a professional capacity. In particular we would like to encourage trainees in the various clinical and scientific disciplines to join and to participate in the scientific and strategic development of ANZUP.
