We are 1,300 technical and professional individuals dedicated to preserving Ontario's water environment. The Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) is the leading association connecting Ontario’s water environment professionals. Through bold leadership, innovation and leveraging existing knowledge they seek to serve their membership as the pre-eminent organization for preserving, enhancing and sustaining the water environment. The WEAO is a Not-For-Profit technical and educational organization, and is a Member Association of the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Formally incorporated in 1987 as the “Pollution Control Association of Ontario”, the association later changed to the “Water Environment Association of Ontario”, in 1993. WEAO’s membership is comprised of professionals who provide environmentally protective water quality and wastewater management services. WEAO provides a forum for its members to interact for educational, business, social and professional development, while also promoting scientifically sound environmental practices and regulations to its members, the public and policy makers.
