AMERIPAC: The Fund For a Greater America was founded in 1992 by its Honorary Chairman, Steny H. Hoyer. AMERIPAC's goal is to elect and reelect Democratic candidates and Members who bring innovative and creative approaches to solving our Nation's problems.
Since 1992, AMERIPAC has given over $3.7 million in direct contributions to House Members and candidates, while raising them an additional $7.5 million. Under the leadership of House Majority Leader Hoyer, AMERIPAC has provided financial support and political guidance to over 400 Members and candidates over its 16 year history. Nearly two-thirds of the Members of the current Democratic Caucus have received direct financial support from AMERIPAC.
During the Democrats' historic election gains of 2006, AMERIPAC gave over $1 million to Democratic Members, candidates and groups, and raised them another $3.3 million. AMERIPAC helped to elect 42 new Members of Congress while not losing a single incumbent.
In addition to financial support, AMERIPAC provides strategic advice to Members and candidates on fundraising, organizing, communications and policy.
