Women’s Health Victoria is a statewide, feminist, not-for-profit organisation working with government, the health sector, and the community to improve health outcomes for women (cis and trans inclusive) and gender diverse people.
We know that health looks different for everyone, yet women and gender diverse people still face deeply rooted challenges when accessing equitable care, from a health system that was never built for, or with, them.
We are focused on addressing areas of health inequity including sexual and reproductive health, mental health and wellbeing, cancer, and other barriers to living a healthy life like gendered violence, sexism, and misogyny.
Our range of services, resources and initiatives include:
- 1800 My Options, a free, confidential phone line and online resource providing sexual and reproductive health information
- Counterpart, our peer support service for women with cancer
- The Labia Library, an award-winning collection of real vulva images
- The Victorian Women’s Health Atlas, an interactive tool that delivers current data on key women’s health indicators
- shEqual, an Australian-first movement for gender equality in advertising
- The Women’s Mental Health Alliance, that provides expert advice to policymakers and health services
- In My Prime, an online health and wellbeing resource that celebrates older women.
Since 1993, we have been advocating and supporting women and gender diverse people and we will continue to do whatever it takes to reach gender equity in health.
