The Hub City Writers Project is a nonprofit organization in Spartanburg, South Carolina, dedicated to cultivating readers and nurturing writers through its independent small press, community bookstore, and diverse literary programming.
We are publish regional contemporary literature and cultural history, with a special emphasis on works with a strong sense of place.
We host an annual writers conference at Wofford College (http://www.hubcity.org/conference), sponsor regular writing workshops and readings and offer scholarships to the winners of the annual Spartanburg County creative writing contest.
We operate the Hub City Bookshop, one of a tiny handful of non-profit bookstores in the United States.
