The City of Melton is located in Melbourne's outer western suburbs. Spanning approximately 530 square kilometres, bordered by Djerrwarrh Creek and the Wombat State Forest, the City of Melton is a combination of urban and rural living. It is located at a comfortable commuting distance from Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat.
We are a young municipality with a large proportion (over 70%) of residents under 45 years of age. The City is also extremely diverse and is comprised of groups who speak over 80 languages and represent 70 countries. The City of Melton provides a vast resource of talented labour, educational, training and leisure facilities, and is an excellent and affordable place to live and do business.

The City of Melton is made up of the suburbs of Brookfield, Burnside, Burnside Heights, Caroline Springs, Diggers Rest, Exford, Eynesbury (shared with the City of Wyndham), Hillside (shared with the City of Brimbank), Kurunjang, Melton, Melton South, Melton West, Mount Cottrell (shared with the City of Wyndham), Parwan (shared with the Shire of Moorabool), Plumpton, Ravenhall, Rockbank, Taylors Hill, Toolern Vale and Truganina (shared with the City of Wyndham).
