Greenland Group started its journey as Greenland Overseas in 1983 with a far reaching vision and goal of creating job opportunities for Bangladeshi citizens in the global job market. Today Greenland Group has grown into a multi-dimensional group of companies, while retaining its main focus in the manpower sector of the country.
Facing the challenges of producing trained and skilled labor, the management of Greenland Group felt the need to create a backward integration in the form of skill development training before deploying employees abroad. As a result, Greenland Academic Complex (GAC) was founded in 2004, which is one of the finest skill training centers of the country with three institutions, namely, Greenland Training Centre Ltd., Greenland Technical Institute and Greenland Polytechnic Institute operating in close cooperation with each other under the umbrella of GAC.
By the same token, following the decision of Greenland management, Greenland Overseas Tourism ltd. (GOTL) began its operation in 2008 for making timely and efficient travel arrangements for outbound workers. GOTL has now expanded into a full-fledged business outfit which caters to the growing needs of the travel and tourism sector of the country.
In 2017, Greenland Group set its goals even higher and formed a franchisee agreement with Herfy Fast Foods, an American Fast Food restaurant founded in Saudi Arabia. Today, Greenland Group has expanded its operations in the fast food business to 4 Herfy branches in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and aims to continue to expand into other cities.
