Highpoint Center for Printmaking is dedicated to advancing the art of printmaking. Its goals are to provide educational programs, community access, and collaborative publishing opportunities to engage the public and increase the appreciation and understanding of the printmaking arts.
Established in 2001, it was built in the spirit of service and designed to fill a longstanding need for a professional, community-based printmaking arts space in the Upper Midwest. HP remains the only facility of its kind in the region, a multifaceted learning space bringing artists of diverse ages, backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels together in an open, collaborative environment.
Highpoint Center for Printmaking provides the following opportunities:
• Educational Print Workshops for K-12 students and adult learners
• A Cooperative Printshop where artists can create work in community, access professional equipment, gain creative support, and exhibit and sell artwork
• Highpoint Editions (HPE) Visiting Artist Program where artists explore and collaborate with the print shop to publish original prints
• Artist Support Programs: early to mid-career artists receive co-op access, stipends, an exhibition, and professional development. Programs include the Jerome Early Career Printmaking Residency, McKnight Printmaking Fellowship, Full Color Print Fellowship and Teaching Artist Learning Community for BIPOC artists, and ACCESS/PRINT Teen Mentorship Program.
• The Highpoint Galleries where visitors can view print exhibitions showcasing various styles and techniques by diverse artistic voices. Annually, HP hosts 6-8 main exhibitions and quarterly shows in our Threshold Gallery.
• Free Ink Day, HP’s family day, welcomes all ages to engage in hands-on printmaking activities. Visitors create prints, learn about printmaking, and connect
