Port Tampa Bay is West Central Florida's single largest economic engine and primary gateway for waterborne commerce throughout Central Florida and beyond. Handling more than 37 million tons of cargo in the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2016 – nearly 40 percent of all cargo moving in and out of the state of Florida by tonnage.
