Project Wreckless expects more of our youth, so they can gain the confidence to expect more of themselves.
Project Wreckless is a capacity development program currently targeting at-risk youth in San Francisco that are more likely to drop out of school, engage in criminal activity, battle with mental illness, or abuse substances.
We provide the tools for life through an immersive curriculum centered around the restoration of badass, classic cars. Learning the basics of auto mechanics is a given. Our program is unique in that our youth rotate through a set of other job roles necessary for the efficient operations of an auto shop. Quantitative skills learned include auto mechanics, accounting, social media, scheduling, people management, and budgeting. Qualitative skills learned include teamwork, collaboration, conflict resolution, and communication. Together, the quantitative and qualitative skills comprise the “tools for life” toolbox that Project Wreckless provides to each student.
Project Wreckless has partnered with Gumball 3000 Foundation and is currently building a Shelby GT500KR Convertible Mustang to compete in the Gumball 3000 rally in June 2019. The rally will start in Mykonos, Greece and end in Ibiza, Spain, with stops in various countries along the way.
