Ripple Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run Canadian educational charity. Ripple Foundation creates and delivers free community programs advocating creative literacy among children and youth. The benefits of creativity literacy include building confidence, boosting imagination, and promoting creative thinking and problem-solving. As a result, children and youth learn how to express themselves while expanding their reading and writing skills. There are our programs:
Kids Write 4 Kids – An annual, nationwide creative writing contest for youth in grades 4-8. The winning stories are published as books made available for sale online. The proceeds from these book sales are donated to the winner’s charity of choice to foster a sense of philanthropy.
Write It Workshops – A creative writing workshop for children and youth in grades 4-8, held every Saturday afternoon. Each lesson plan focuses on children’s writing skills through fun, interactive activities. Participants are encouraged to find their voice and gain confidence in their writing choices. These workshops also provide a foundation for young authors to participate in the Kids Write 4 Kids annual writing contest.
Wave Blog – A blog dedicated to amplifying young authors' voices through publishing posts written by youth in grades 8-12. Students get to share their opinions and experiences on various topics that matter to them. New blog posts are published weekly. In addition, students can earn five volunteer hours per blog post.
