The POS Foundation which was established in 2005 by its Founder and Executive Director, Mr. Jonathan Osei Owusu, and is duly registered and certified under the laws of Ghana with recognition from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Ghana as well as Development Corporations and various Embassies/High Commissions.
With a 15 year track record of successful projects/ programs, through its hardworking, selfless, determined and dedicated staff and volunteers, the Foundation has strategically positioned itself as one of the leading CSOs in Ghana in the area of Access to Justice, Advocacy for the Right To Information, Convener for Civil Society Platform on the UN Universal Periodic Review in Ghana, Drug Policy reforms etc. and currently serves as the secretariat for the Ghana Human Rights NGOs Forum.
In summary, the POS Foundation's thematic areas of work as highlighted above address the problem of Prison Congestion; Fair and Speedy trial; Law/Policy Reforms including Alternatives to Incarceration and modern trends of drug policy reforms; Social Inclusion; and Respect and
Promotion of fundamental Human Rights, especially the poor/marginalized, Women and the Youth.
In 2018, the Foundation was recognized by His Excellency Nana Akufo- Addo, Her Ladyship the Chief Justice, Sophia A. B Akuffo and Her Excellency, Tove Degnbol, the Danish Ambassador to Ghana for its remarkable role in restoring and instilling faith among several persons who have lost hope in the Justice Delivery Chain through the Justice for All Program.
