"Inspiring appreciation and conservation of our aquatic environments." The NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island offers the opportunity to explore, experience and interact with wildlife, from juvenile alligators in Seven Rivers to sand tiger sharks in the 285,000-gallon Graveyard of the Atlantic aquarium. The aquarium is home to the Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation Center, a working hospital open to visitors, where stranded and injured sea turtles are treated and brought back to health before being released back to sea. We offer many fun and educational opportunities to engage with the aquarium's mission of conservation and species preservation.
The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. Find out more about us at ncaquariums.com/roanoke-island.
