Johnny Brophy is a multi-disciplined designer and fine artist working in the fashion industry as an art director, set and spatial designer and stylist. He has twenty years of practical experience working for both global and independent brands. He designs, fabricates and installs for fashion shows, bespoke window projects, product launches and brand positioning events. He also collaborates with photographers as a set designer for still-life, editorial and advertorial projects. His work encompasses various creative disciplines including scenic design, fine art and craft practices. Similarly, his love of natural materials frequently brings together experimental combinations and assemblages of textiles, natural forms, objets trouvé, and collage.
Johnny Brophy also works as a painter and sculptor. While these disciplines simultaneously feed into his commercial work, the central feature of his fine art practice is concerned with nature and the environment. He employs natural and re-purposed materials on both large and small-scale works to create both intimate and poetic effects.
