The Spring Independent School District serves nearly 37,000 pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students in a diverse and growing district located 20 miles north of downtown Houston.
Spring ISD’s instructional approach allows for all students to excel academically, socially and in extracurricular activities. Curricula used districtwide reflects the district’s belief in literacy as the foundation of academic success. That foundation is woven through core subject areas including math, science, language arts and social studies. Additionally, the district offers instructional services to every learner. Academic acceleration and enrichment are available for the gifted and talented, while special education services are provided for students with disabilities. Bilingual instruction and English as a Second Language education programs are available for students who require assistance while learning the English language. Early education is also available for students through half-day programs at every elementary campus.
The district’s 40 campuses include 21 schools constructed during the last decade and numerous renovations, which ensure that learning takes place in secure, technologically advanced and well-maintained facilities that offer 21st century learning opportunities. The campuses include three comprehensive high schools classified as 6A, an early college academy, and a high-school career academy where students take courses aligned with their career interests. In addition, the district has seven middle schools serving grades six through eight; two middle school of choice that focuses on math, science and fine arts; and 26 pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade elementary schools.
