The New York Guard is the State Defense Force of the State of New York and is one of the four military branches under the New York Division of Military and Naval Affairs (DMNA) alongside the New York Army National Guard, Air National Guard, and Naval Militia. The mission of the New York Guard is to provide a trained, ready, deployable force capable of conducting Civil Support Operations and other operational assignments throughout the state in support of New York Military Force (NYMF) missions and/or units.
