The Fed is the largest Jewish social care charity in Greater Manchester and cares and supports more Jewish people than any other charity in our city region.
In 2020 we supported 1,402 Jewish homes which equates to one in eight - a quite staggering statistic. Via our Community Services teams we support people with mental health issues, sexual abuse of children, loneliness, domestic abuse and violence, isolation, poverty and self-harm. We also support 29 Holocaust survivors.
In any one year we can care for over 5,400 people. We also have 550+ volunteers and employ 350 people.
At our Heathlands Village Care Home we look after 150 residents via assisted living, residential, dementia, elderly mental illness, nursing and end of life care. We also operate a Discharge to Assess unit for the NHS.
The Fed provides life enhancing – and often lifesaving – care and is the Manchester Jewish community’s safety net.
