NAVEX - Empresa Portuguesa de Navegação, S. A. was founded on 09.10.1967 with headquarters in Largo do Corpo Santo in Lisbon, the center of all shipping activities then. Later on opened its own offices in Oporto and Sines, in order to expand its activity as Shipping Agent. Since then, for the same purpose, also opened local offices in all the main Portuguese commercial ports Setúbal, Aveiro, Portimão, Faro, Figueira da Foz, Viana do Castelo, Madeira and the Azores and finally at Cape Verde. NAVEX is part of GRUPO ETE’s, a recognised logistics group and one of the largest portuguese business groups in the shipping and port operations, whose starting dates back to 1936, when began building its solid structure as Port Operators specialized in loading and unloading, not only alongside piers but also in the middle of the Tagus River with barges and floating cranes.
