As Northamptonshire’s leading housing, debt, and benefits advice service we are passionate about supporting our clients – assessing and providing people with the information, support, and skills they need in order to escape debt, access housing, feed their families and secure the benefits they are entitled to.
We are a professional and charitable organisation, with two key areas of focus:
• Supported accommodation for single homeless people in North Northants
• Impartial and life changing housing, debt and benefits advice
We empower individuals to move out of debt, out of hunger, out of poverty and out of homelessness.
At Accommodation Concern we believe everyone deserves the right to live their best possible life.
We are here to help.
In 2021-2022 we
• Provided up to 14 food parcels a week
• Supported 1,000 clients
• Managed and helped individuals deal with, manage and move on from £385,000 of debt
• Helped eligible individuals claim around £177,000 in benefits they were entitled to
Accommodation Concern was founded in 1987 by local day centres, clergy, and Councillors of all political persuasions to provide a single point of contact for anyone seeking housing advice.
The organisation has changed considerably over the years, expanding and retracting in size. Now, with CEO Jo Moore at the helm, Accommodation Concern is a professional organisation offering housing, debt and benefit advice, while also providing supported accommodation for single homeless people in North Northants.
Face to face support is key to Accommodation Concern and even during the pandemic this support continued.
We are the go-to agency locally for housing, debt and benefit advice. All services are free, at the point of delivery, and open to anyone from 16 years of age.
