Caribana Festival takes place each year during the second week in June, from Wednesday to Sunday, on the shores of Lake Léman in the harbour of Crans-près-Céligny, Canton of Vaud, 15km away from Geneva. Launched in 1990 by a group of friends, the Festival has since been entirely managed by volunteers, who join forces as the non-for-profit Caribana association and are dedicated to keeping the festival alive. The executive committee is composed of 30 members who work all year long. Nonetheless the festival counts on the support of 700 volunteers during the festival week. The last day is specially dedicated to the young. The festival has a permanent office and shop in the center of Nyon.
