The Woodridge Park District established in October 1969 is governed by a set of Illinois laws known as the Park District Code, which was enacted in 1947 (70 ILCS 1205, et seq.).
The Woodridge Park serves approximately 35,500 residents, offers more than 1,000 programs each year, and maintains four facilities and 60 community and neighborhood parks and sites, woodlands, wetlands, bikeways and open space totaling 655 acres. Facilities include Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, Village Greens Golf Course and the Community Center.
The agency's commitment to excellence is why the Woodridge Park District earned Accreditation from the Illinois Association of Park Districts & Illinois Parks & Recreation Association's Joint Committee Distinguished Agency Accreditation program in 2010.
