Our work
At Project Armonia our philosophy is simple: good food has the power to restore dignity and humanity, bringing people together and reaching across borders and cultural barriers.
For the past two years, we have operated a free-restaurant that served over 1000 healthy and nutritious meals per day to the refugee community on Samos.
After two years of operation here, we have a new exciting challenge ahead! We are currently in the process of relocating our services to Athens.
Our approach
Where refugees are regularly met with hostility, we welcome them with open arms.
Our diversity is our strength. On Samos, our team of 45 volunteers came predominantly from the refugee community itself, accounting for 22 different nationalities.
Our team of chefs cook recipes from around the world, providing our guests a taste of home in an unfamiliar place.
We see ourselves as working with the refugee community, not for them. Our volunteers from the refugee community are at the centre of everything we do, from planning meals to registering guests.
In addition to this, we provide our volunteers with vocational training, CV support and job searching. In doing so, we seek to improve employment prospects, facilitating and promoting the sustainable integration of refugees into host communities.
