Located on Canada’s West Coast, XLYNX Materials (pronounced “Ex-Links”) is a specialty chemicals company developing novel crosslinking diazirine-based molecules for commercial manufacturing applications.
Incorporated in 2019 after developing the world’s first covalent polymer crosslinking molecular adhesive capable of bonding with non-functionalized polymers like polyethylene and polypropylene, XlynX Materials now represents some of the foremost experts in this small but growing field of materials-based diazirine chemistry.
Situated in beautiful Victoria, Canada, XlynX Materials is a private company operating out of a state-of-the-art laboratory located on the University of Victoria campus.
The company is commercializing two lines of crosslinking products: BondLynx (bis-diazirine molecular covalent crosslinking adhesive and stabilizer) and PlastiLynx (a polymeric diazirine crosslinking adhesive and primer).
XlynX is currently working with a wide array of industry leaders to solve long-standing materials challenges in fields that include adhesion, sealants, performance textiles, ballistic materials, aerospace coatings, advanced composites, organic electronics, perovskite solar cells and semiconductors. By enabling adhesion and adding functionality to low-surface energy polymers, XlynX believes it is only scratching the surface when it comes to potential applications and is actively engaging with industrial and academic experts to explore other exciting opportunities.
