Located within the Western Coalfields of New South Wales, the Moolarben coal mine is a world-class open cut coal asset producing export quality thermal coal.
Situated within the Western Coalfields of New South Wales, near the village of Ulan, approximately 45km northeast of Mudgee and 25km east of Gulgong. The Moolarben coal mine ships internationally via the Port of Newcastle.
Operations comprise an existing open cut mine (Stage One) producing export quality thermal coal and an underground thermal coal development project (Stage Two).
Moolarben benefits from the geology of the Ulan coal seam, which has an average thickness of approximately 12 metres throughout the deposit, a low strip ratio and a relatively simple mining operation.
