The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra (founded June 2016) is a Registered Charity. The orchestra seeks to satisfy a cultural desire amongst Albertans, regardless of where they live, for accessible programming of excellent Orchestral Music.
Mainstage Concerts (Orchestral Masterworks) are performed at Red Deer Lake United Church (near Spruce Meadows) and the beautiful Polaris Centre (midway between Calgary and Airdrie).
With a strong emphasis on Music Education, especially outside the Calgary metro area, the RMSO is pleased to provide subsidized tickets to children & students to all of its concerts.
We believe that the vast repertoire of Western Art Music should be accessible to all, regardless of socio-economic background and/or geographic location.
The Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra employs 45 musicians on an ad-hoc basis. The Orchestra is governed by a Volunteer Board.
The RMSO is based out of the Polaris Centre for the Performing Arts in RockyView County, AB.
