The Sharon Land Trust was founded in 1982 to protect and preserve lands of special scenic, natural, environmental, recreational, historic, or agricultural value to the rural atmosphere of the town of Sharon, Connecticut. Today the Sharon Land Trust holds conservation easements on more than 1133 acres and owns more than 1037 acres. A large proportion of the land is agricultural and is maintained as cropland by area dairy farmers.
