At whatever stage we become involved, our role is to add value and to lessen pain points. We have a 'three S' mantra for Documentary Storytelling: Shape, Sharpen and Shine! As documentary budgets grow larger, the need to proactively anticipate rather than react to, what is needed in the edit, is critical. We provide specialist services to production companies, broadcasters and streamers. Our team of edit consultants are among the very best in the world of documentary-making. We support everything from project planning to problem-solving right through to the final polish, to make a film 'zing'. We also offer hosted offline editing solutions at our base in Angel, London. The Cutting Room was started in a home office in 2016 and moved to offices in Holborn in 2019 and relocated again to Angel in 2023. During the pandemic, we expanded to host edits remotely and we now have ten workstations. 'The Cutting Room Consulting' was created in response to the shortage of documentary editing expertise to allow productions and streamer/broadcasters to access expert editors for focused input. The Consultant team has grown from six to ten people with the shared values of encouraging and nurturing youth and diverse talent wherever possible. All TCR consultants commit to absolute confidentiality in dealing with productions and to always provide constructive and supportive feedback.
